The Perfect Day: A Plan for Living the Life you Want to Live 

 

Imagine if every day could be perfect?  Think of how amazing your life would be if you could have everything you needed and be living the life of your dreams. 

 

Take a moment and imagine what a day in the life of your dreams would be like.  Where would you be?  What would you be doing?  How would you feel?  What would you look like?  Stop, close your eyes and envision this day.  Take a deep breath in and feel how this vision relaxes you.

 

Thoughts and visions of our dreams relax us for a reason – they relax us because when we enter that state of thought we are in the flow of the direction of our life.  These dreams FEEL good  - and ALL GOOD FEELINGS are signposts that we are moving in the right direction in our lives.

 

These creative visualizations are how the process of developing the life you want begins.  You only need to begin by envisioning your future – this is the first step – and a very powerful one at that – in creating your dream reality.

 

Once you have that vision in your mind, you have started the ball rolling.  Now you need to move through some small steps to actually make these dreams a reality. 

 

The world is ready for this type of radical shift.  We are all ready to stop the cycle of letting our life ‘happen’ to us and we are ready to get back in the drivers seat!   We are done with staying stuck in the same place for decades.  Even those of us that have been in a ‘stuck’ place yearn to break free and experience life as it was truly meant to be lived. 

 

So worry not if you are fit for the job.  The first day of the rest of your life is today and you only need to have faith that it is ONLY your dream life that you are fit to live.

 

God gives you these images and yearnings for a reason, make today the day you stop your excuses for not living the life you want to live – and start doing things to get you there!! 

 

Here are seven simple steps to creating a perfect day, everyday:

 

    Get In Touch With Your Emotions 

Select a day this week and notice all your feelings that come up in a day. Every moment of every day we are feeling something.  Whether it be happy or sad – tired, hungry, calm, excited, nervous or anxious – feelings are our signposts as we move throughout our days.  When we are feeling good – we know we are on the right track.  When we are feeling bad – we just need to look at why we are feeling bad.  Ask yourself what you can do to move into days in which you are experiencing more good feelings then bad feelings.

 
 Practice Compassion 

Compassion is the key to effortless living.  Once you have truly felt what it is like to live with compassion for all other humans (yes, this is possible!) you will not want to ever go back.  A simple way to practice compassion is to commit yourself daily to focusing on the beautiful pure soul within each human being that is connected to your beautiful pure soul.  We all come from the same place and return to the same place – so honoring each other with compassionate THOUGHT while we are here is our only mission in dealing with others.

 

This means that over the course of the day you want to set the intention that your thoughts towards all others for the day are full of compassion.  As you go throughout your day and normal frustrations arise – take a step back and try to imagine that the person that you are dealing with has a pure light within them (some may be harder to see then others – but everyone has at least a spark of light).  This light connects to you and to God – and your only job is to look past what the circumstances are and know that the essence of this person is pure – and if you can focus on that for long enough – the negative traits or energy can fall away.

 

This practice is best done first by concentrating on those people that your know; focus on seeing only the light within your family and friends, then those that you don’t know; look for the light in strangers on the street, the homeless man and the wealthy woman and finally turn to those that you have a hard time dealing with; your superiors or close loved ones.  Ask yourself to only think compassionate thoughts towards all of these people today – and when you notice yourself thinking a thought that is not compassionate, gently sweep it away and refocus on compassion.  This may be easier with some days and harder with others.

 

Know that it is the hard days that bring the most growth – so do not give up! This practice is so radically transforming once you commit yourself to it – your relationships and emotional reactions to others will never be the same!

 
 Practice Mindful Meditation 

Mindful Meditation is the Buddhist practice of becoming aware of each moment you are in and staying centered in that moment.  This is done by keeping your focus on your breath, becoming aware of your body and your surroundings.  The best part about this ancient Buddhist practice is that it can easily fit into the typical busy life of people today.  This is because you do not need to put aside any time to practice mindful meditation – it can be done during routine activities like washing the dishes, walking to the bathroom or brushing your teeth.  It is simply a time of a clear mind and attention to the present moment.  Dedicate time everyday to practice.  Begin by focusing on your breath and the action your body is performing. When you notice your mind drifting off in another direction, gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.  Slowly try to incorporate more and more segments of mindful meditation into your day.  The practice is the most rewarding I can suggest – it will help your mind to slow down and your connection to spirit to become clearer.  Your insight and clarity into questions in your own life will begin to heighten with this practice.

  
Create an Action Plan 

Ask yourself what are five things can you do this month to move you closer to your dream life?  Create a list of these five intentions for the month and within a simple ceremony (light a candle and ask for divine guidance) carefully write the intentions on sacred paper (sacred paper can be any special paper that you bless before you write upon it).

 

Post those intentions on your bathroom mirror and look at them every morning.  As you read over each intention visualize yourself creating that reality, breathe in deeply and allow your breath to invigorate this intention.

 

Change this list every month – sometimes repeating intentions and sculpting them to embody the new direction in your life.  The New Moon is an excellent time for this ceremony each month – the powerful energies of the moon at this time will send your intentions on higher vibrations out into the universe.  This is such a powerful practice – my results have made me a believer in the perfect day!

 

Let these goals be a constant reminder that you are moving towards the life of your dreams!  As you read them breathe deeply and connect to the spirit running through you that is allowing it all to happen in perfect timing!

 
 Cultivate Patience 
 
Write this somewhere you will see it every day: Everyday events are all part of the journey that brings me closer to knowing God! 

Everything is unfolding exactly as it is supposed to!  Do not try to rush the process, instead, ENJOY the journey of creating your life.  Remind yourself that creating your life is not something to worry about – but something to get excited about!!

 
Remember Faith 

It is possible to live EVERYDAY in a blissful state – and you don’t have to live on an island or the top of a mountain.  Instead you can live wherever you want, and do whatever you want – and be blissful living the life of your dreams. BELIEVING that this can happen is your first step. On those days when you are not feeling blissful

repeat this statement after me:

 I deserve the most fulfilling life I have ever had.  My dreams CAN BE my reality!    

SO………….there is no time like the present!

Seize the day!

 

Get out there and make things happen right now.  Notice your emotions, mindfully meditate, holding love in your heart and practice compassion, set those intentions, remember to remain patience and keep believing in your dreams – they have been sent to you by God.
